Cookies & storage

PAXAL doesn't run third-party advertising cookies and doesn't show a consent interstitial. What the site does store on your device is listed below — most of it is the browser's own cache mechanisms (localStorage, OPFS, service worker) rather than HTTP cookies. The full data-handling picture is at /privacy; this page is the storage-specific view.

HTTP COOKIES

Analytics — PostHog (optional)

When telemetry is enabled, PostHog sets first-party cookies under eu.i.posthog.com to deduplicate sessions. These are anonymous — no account, no email, no IP-derived location, no cross-site tracking. Toggle telemetry off in the in-app settings drawer and PostHog never sets them. Their policy: posthog.com/privacy.

Site cookies — none

PAXAL itself doesn't set HTTP cookies. There's no login session, no shopping cart, no preference cookie — the browser's localStorage handles all of those when needed (see below).

Advertising / tracking — none

No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no ad-tech, no fingerprinting beyond the adapter string the GPU itself reports. No third-party iframe that could set its own cookies on you.

OTHER BROWSER STORAGE

Beyond cookies, the site uses four standard browser-storage mechanisms. Server-invisible — it's never read back.

  • ·localStorage — settings, drive log, calibration (~5 KB)
  • ·sessionStorage — once-per-tab UI flags
  • ·OPFS — decoded scene cache (~1 GB cap, LRU-evicted)
  • ·service-worker cache — offline shell

Full per-key breakdown at /privacy, and /data renders exactly what's on your device.

HOW TO TURN IT OFF

  • ·In-app telemetry opt-out: settings drawer → privacy section → toggle off. Sticky across sessions on the same browser.
  • ·Clear everything PAXAL stored: browser → site settings → clear site data. Removes cookies, localStorage, OPFS, and the service worker cache in one action.
  • ·Block storage at the browser level: most browsers let you blanket-block third-party cookies and site storage. PAXAL still loads but loses the second-visit warm cache.
  • ·Want to see what's stored about you? /data renders the full picture — pure read, nothing leaves your device.

CHANGES

New storage categories or analytics endpoints will be announced on /changelog before they ship. Renaming an existing key isn't announced.
